Greetings rowers,

Although it’s highly unlikely anyone will be going out rowing this weekend, here’s the availability sheet for any eternal optimists!

🚘🚙🚗🚘🚙🚗 TOWING FOR REGATTA SEASON

As the regatta season starts coming into view, we need to think about getting our boats to the events we want to compete at. We need to spread the load of towing  – in the last couple of years we have been relying on a very small number of drivers, and an even smaller number of vehicles to carry out the crucial job of getting to regattas and other races.

SAFETY & LOGISTICS OFFICER, NIALL DENNEHY is looking for anyone who has a suitable vehicle (over 1.6l and capable of towing a decent load) and who’d be prepared to tow, (or organise for another member to tow using their vehicle) the boats for a regatta or two. If you don’t have a tow bar, the club will organise and pay for you to get one!!

Secondly – and this is where all members need to get their thinking hats on: If anyone can think of a local business that has a vehicle that would fit the bill and would be willing to let us use it the odd Sunday in exchange for a great advertising/sponsorship opportunity, we’d love to chat to them. A branded company van/SUV towing the boats around DL and up and down the coast would be great exposure – if it’s unmarked, we’ll look at fixing something up to make sure it’s worth their while,!!! So get thinking – obviously we’ll commit to taking excellent care of the loaner! This would greatly increase our capacity with towing.

Contact Niall 0879267438, nialldennehy@hotmail.com if you can assist on either option…. our season depends on it!!
