Hi all,
Greetings from Dingle, or ‘The Open Air Asylum’ as they call it.
Congratulations to all involved in the Open Day, record numbers turned out which is amazing. Well done to everyone involved – the feedback and enthusiasm from the newbies was absolutely amazing, lots of emails saying what a brilliant time they had and how much they enjoyed it – you sure know how to show them a good time!! And they haven’t even been to McKennas yet…
Next week is going to be a busy one so be sure to be both charming and instructive around the slip and on the water – remember new rowers may not be used to the water so please remember this when dealing with them so that everyone has a safe and fun experience.
A few dates for your diaries:
1) Family challenge is booked for May 19th. Ger, Gary & Chris will be taking charge of the on water activities but we need a couple of volunteers for the BBQ that evening – Aisling will be on hand to assist with planning but is not around for the event. Drop Aisling a line if you can help out. [Edit – Postponed to August 25th!]
2) Bag packing to raise funds at SuperValu Blackrock on June 9th & 10th – again if you can spare a few hours to volunteer please contact Aisling.
3) Youth Open Day is on 28th April at the DMYC – contact Youth Officer Brendan for more info.
And log on now to https://www.dunlaoghairerowing.com/members-area/availability/weekly-availability/ to put in your zeros for next week.
I feel like I should crack some really saucy jokes now, because next email will need to be more restrained once we add the newbies in on it and try to give them a good impression!
Which reminds me – when the newbies are added to the Banter Whats App, it will be time for the annual reining it in for a bit!! 😜
And finally, this week’s availability sheet is now live on the member’s area at www.dunlaoghairerowing.com
Ciao
