Once upon a time there was a club….who held the best Regatta on the East Coast…AND WON THE MOST RACES…

You know i’m talking about St Michael’s Rowing Club…and its this Sunday!!
Its the first regatta of the season, a chance for us all as a club to set the standard for all the rest of the clubs on the East Coast. We have the biggest course and arguably the largest club in terms of membership. So there’s no reason we can’t play an absolute stormer (wrong choice of pun maybe…)  on Sunday.
Everybody in the club has a role to play on Sunday, from the crew prepping the boat this Thursday, the lads laying the course, the crews rowing the boats over, members helping with the overall set up on the day to the drill sergeants or beach marshals on the beach making sure everybody makes their race in time. WE NEED YOU!!!
Our regatta subcommittee has been hard at work ensuring everything is in place for us all to contribute in an effective and efficient manner. PLEASE READ THE REGATTA ORGANISATIONAL ROSTER (attached) TO SEE WHAT JOBS YOU HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED ON THE DAY.
DON’T HAVE YOUR INITIALS ON THE ROSTER? WE STILL NEED YOU…..
When? .Every club member is expected to be at the CLUB SHED 10AM sharp where they will be given tasks by myself or Jane.

WHERE IS THE REGATTA HELD?  The Regatta HQ is situated behind the West Pier on a grassy knoll which can be accessed from the back of the West Pier where the DMYC and Sea Scouts are based. We launch the boats from the strip of sand / stones quite near Seapoint but at the opposite end.
For all crew related issues before the the big day, such as getting injured or sick before the regatta please contact Amy Smith 0868755254 or Mel Mardon 0838317440.

If there are any issues with the jobs roster, please contact Jane Collins before lunch time on Thursday on 086826821.

Please note i will be officer of the day for the regatta helping to make sure everything runs smoothly, so if your unsure of anything please ask!

For crew listings please review last week’s email available on club website. https://www.dunlaoghairerowing. com/no-shows-crew-list-for- home-regatta/
Lastly, don’t forget to put in your availability for Next week’s training schedule as Skerries Regatta is on the following week. And don’t be that person who puts their availability in on Monday forgetting about the Regatta Post drinks party in McKenna’s on Sunday night and looks for a sub!
Best of luck to all crews!
