Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we are not going to be back on the water as soon as hoped this year. With five boats to care for, the amount of maintenance hours put in so far haven’t got us there. We really need everyone to pitch in as much as they can and get down to maintenance as much as possible over the next few weeks to get this over the line.
It’s pretty shocking when you look at the stats – even though the club has grown in membership and amount of boats, this year saw the lowest hours of maintenance done since we started keeping records. There were sessions where no-one turned up, and times when we repeatedly put calls out for people to help flip boats and couldn’t get it done due to lack of numbers.
At the moment we are looking at pushing it out for an extra week of maintenance, and hopefully, with a good turnout at the maintenance sessions this will help get us there. It’s your club and they are your boats, so if you haven’t been down much or at all, please try and put some work in.
