Howdy Rowers,
This week we’ve been blessed by the weather gods, so i hope you’ve enjoyed yourselves on the water. Next week will be the busiest week for the club and the committee as it is the week of our Regatta…Yay! Go Michaels…So the new boats wont be going out on Thursday in preparation for our regatta. If you can lend a hand with any of the preparation during next week please let us know as there is loads to be doing!
NO SHOWS
As you may have read from the various Whats App feeds or witnessed yourself by waiting on the slip for initials that don’t turn up, this year has had its fair share of no-shows. No shows negatively impact the experience of everybody else in that particular crew. Crews have to be cancelled or delayed which is not cool for all concerned. As a committee we recognise this has become a hot topic at the moment. As such from today onwards, all no-shows need to be reported to David Cullen who is the Membership Secretary. The Membership Secretary will contact the missing rower to ascertain the reasons behind the no-show. The Sanction for missing your rowing slot is a ban from the following week’s schedule. So please:

READ THE SCHEDULE CAREFULLY
UNDERSTAND YOUR INITIALS
UNDERSTAND THE SUBSTITUTE POLICY – either by checking the availability sheet and contacting available members not down to row that evening, or look for a sub via Whats App
Please note its not the job of the membership secretary to find you a replacement in the event you can’t row. All responsibility lies with the individual concerned.
Bag Packing
Thanks to all the members who are giving up their time to fundraise for the club this weekend in Super Valu Blackrock. Its greatly appreciated! Let’s try and raise as much money as possible.
Training schedule
Brendan will be taking over the schedule hot seat this weekend. So as ever please widen your availability to make it easier for himself. The schedule is now open for next week and the week after.
