Hey rowers,

We’re going to kick off this week with a fun “Choose Your Own Adventure’ type game. Just choose your answer, if you agree or disagree with the following statement:

“I’m sound and I’m going to help the club with fundraising.”

1. YES!
2. NO!
If you picked option 1, YES, then click on the link below and put your name down to give two hours of your time to help with the SuperValu (Blackrock) bag pack on 9th and/or 10th June.
If you picked option 2, NO, then you have until the deadline for signing up by 23rd May to change your mind.
Congratulations to the St Michael’s crew – Vinny, Mel, Colm, Hilary and Eoin – who finished 3rd in the Boyne Race last Sunday.
👕👟👟👕👟 CLUB KIT  👟👕👟👟

Official club kit can be purchased in Grandstand Sports in Patrick Street Dun Laoghaire. We kindly request that people pair their official kit tops with navy or black shorts/leggings on regatta days.

A number of kit suppliers’ products were reviewed in relation to updating our club kit and at this time none could fulfil all our requirements.

The change of club kit is now expected to proceed next year. We hope to present this change as a unique opportunity for potential sponsors, and will be targeting PR this season to raise the profile of the club through published articles and pictures in local newspapers. (So as requested above, please be well turned out and matchy-matchy on regatta days so we look slick in the photos to show potential sponsors.)

There is also an ongoing review of some proposals for new design for the club crest/logo.

Oar-making Workshop
The planned oar-making workshop has been postponed until a later date due to lack of sufficient numbers. If you are interested in taking part, talk to Chris.

Oar Maintenance Day
In the meantime, you can give a helping hand getting the oars we have ship-shape on the Oar Maintenance Day on Saturday 19th May from 10am-12 noon. It’s always one of the most enjoyable maintenance jobs, so try make it down!
And the Availability sheet for next week’s rowing are live here on WEEK 20 –https://www.dunlaoghairerowing.com/members-area/availability/weekly-availability/ – sign up before Friday teatime and remember to put in as many zeros as possible to make the task a little bit less painful for the scheduler. #sympathyforthescheduler
Happy rowing!

Deanna

Dear Rowers,

I only went and forgot the most very important urgent thing that was supposed to go into the email last night.
Niall Dennehy, our Safety Officer, has been in touch with Rowing Ireland about attending an Introductory Coaching Course, run over two evenings, suitable for anyone interested in improving their coxing skills.
I don’t have a date or any more details at the moment. Sorry for the late notice but he needs to get numbers for this straight away, so if you are interested please give Niall a shout today on 087 926 7438.
Thanks
Deanna
