Boat Logistics for East Coast Rowing Regattas 2019
- The Club relies on fellow members to move the boats and equipment to and from regattas.
- Number of boats required for each regatta is 2. Therefore, the Naomh Mícheal & the Dun Laoghaire Nua will not be included on the weekly rowing schedule on Thursday evening after the 7.30pm row so that they are available for boat wash/prep.
- The roster for the work involved relies on2 full crews = 8 PEOPLE.
- For each regatta, there are 2 persons in charge ensuring that everything is covered on the check list. Please speak to them if you have any questions in relation to boat logistics.
- If you are scheduled for boat duty, then the work involved is your priority before, during and after the regattas.
- The persons in charge will consult with both crews scheduled for boat logistics and collectively decide if both prep is carried out on the Thurs or Friday evening.
- If you have someone subbing in for a regatta/race, they do not have to do boat duty. The selection committee will secure a replacement for you, However, it will be your responsibility to secure a replacement for boat duty for the regatta.
- The club has two trailers; each crew should decide amongst themselves which boat they will take responsibility for to ensure nothing is overlooked.
- The rostered trailer drivers are not responsible for ensuring equipment is accounted for (unless their own crew are on duty). However, they are responsible for loading/unloading and tying down the boats with the assistance of the rostered crews.
- Crews on duty are to agree on one designated driver/car that will travel in convoy on outbound and return journey with the boat.
- If a regatta is cancelled, rostered drivers will automatically swap to another date to even out driving duties. The same will apply for crews on boat logistics.
- No drivers are required for StMRC home regatta and Dalkey RC regatta as boats will be rowed over from Coal Harbour by the crews on boat duty on the morning of the Regatta.
**Oars to be dubbed on the morning of the Regatta before loading boat onto trailer and wrapped in cellophane and tied up**
